From August 10-13 2015, the Induction Workshop of the Project Resilience in The Americas (RITA Fiscal Year 16) was conducted in Nicaragua, with the participation of Red Cross Branches’ Councils, directors and heads of volunteer’s corp, from the Red Cross Branch of Sébaco and Tipitapa. Also, participated authorities of the Executive Committee and directors of areas, such as finance, branches’ directions, health and volunteering directions.
During the activity, the components of RITA FY16 were presented in order to analyze each component, strategies, objectives and expected results, with the purpose to involve them on the process of planning and implementation. Participants expressed their interest to contribute to a successful development of trainings process for Red Cross branches and communities involved at the intervention.
This is the third phase of the RITA Project in Nicaragua, working in 4 rural communities (Carreta Quebrada, Paso Real, La Campana y El Madroño), and in an urban community (Neighborhood Julio Buitrago). During next period, we will strengthen the capacities of local committees giving response to prioritized community needs. This, apart from the institutional strengthening of Red Cross National Society as well as departmental and municipal Red Cross branches.
